Victorian Wheat & Buckle Ring
An attractive antique buckle ring that's saturated with symbolism. It's set with three seed pearls, three for the past, the present, and the future, and the pearls themselves representing purity or innocence. The band is engraved around its full circumference with an intricate wheat pattern, associated the feminine energies or nourishment, fertility, and abundance. And the buckle, a motif that was wildy popular amongst the Victorians, favoured by queen Victoria herself, represented eternity, loyalty, strength and protection. Built in 15ct gold and dating from the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.

A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm!
