Victorian Diamond Arrow Pendant
The arrow. Lightning, rain, fecundity, virility, power, war. Released from a bow, the arrow represents the consequences of actions which cannot be recalled or revoked. Apollo's arrows are the sun's rays, both beneficent and fertilizing or scorching or harmful. The arrows of Eros are the piercing darts of love - a heart pierced by an arrow is union.
This arrow is special. It dates from the late Victorian period, circa 1900, and it's set with a rare and beautiful diamond: a triangular step cut. Not a trillion cut, as it lacks the "brilliant" type pavilion facets, but a much older, more ancient cut that's akin to the table cut. The pendant is crafted in 15 carat gold with a bail for wear on a necklace or chain.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
