Victorian Arrow Brooch
The arrow. Lightning, rain, fecundity, virility, power, war. Released from a bow, the arrow represents the consequences of actions which cannot be recalled or revoked. Apollo's arrows are the sun's rays, both beneficent and fertilizing or scorching or harmful. The arrows of Eros are the piercing darts of love - a heart pierced by an arrow is union.
A fantastic, large-scale antique arrow brooch dating from the second half of the 19th century, circa 1870, and set with glistening diamonds: rose cuts and a pair of old miners that flank a darling natural pearl. Being Victorian, the craftsmanship is - of course - exceptional. It's big, bold, and crafted in 15 carat gold with silver settings.
The pin can be removed entirely and the clasp folds down. When it was made, this arrow presumably had another fitting (or two) so it could be worn as a pendant or perhaps a hair ornament. If you're interested, we can have our jeweller fashion a pendant bail to swap in for the brooch fitting.

Layaway
25% deposit taken to secure the item. The remaining balance will be settled in 90 days. You can pay installments weekly, monthly, or the full balance at the end - whatever works.
Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff or scrape is quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
