Tiny Vintage St Christoper Charm
Miniature vintage gold charm of St Christopher dating from the 1970s and crafted in 9 carat gold with faceted 'diamond-cut' border that glistens as it catches the light.
According to legend, Christopher was a giant man, over 7ft tall, and after converting to Christianity he used his height to help travellers safely cross a dangerous river. One day he carried an unknown young boy across the river, as we see depicted here. The young boy later revealed himself as Jesus and, as a result of his help to travellers, Christopher became the patron saint of travellers and lost things. The name Christopher translates from Greek literally as "Christ bearer"; prior to becoming a saint he was known as Reprobus.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
