Georgian Rose Diamond Ring
An exceptional Georgian flower cluster ring brimming with character and charm. Nine rose cut diamonds are set over foil, and the band features fabulously intricate engraving that continues up the shoulders and around the head - gorgeous abstract foliate patterns. At some stage in its life this ring has been submerged in water (that thing everyone says not to do with closed-back settings), causing variegated discolouration of the foil behind the stones... the result is (in my opinion) gorgeous. While the triangular top facets of the diamonds continue to dazzle and sparkle as they catch the light, the stones themselves have taken on a mottled, green and grey appearance - not unlike a "distressed" mirror. It dates from the late 18th century, circa 1790, crafted in 15ct gold throughout.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
