Georgian Moss Agate Bracelet
Gorgeous moss agate bracelet dating from the Georgian era, circa 1820. The stones are a translucent milky white with deep green mossy splashes and curls resembling ink dropped into water. They rest in octagonal open-backed bezel settings that let the light shine through in a lovely way revealing the natural variations of the stone, secured by a ring of milled wire. Crafted in rich 15 carat gold throughout.
Moss agate is a gemstone from the quartz family that's characterised by green or black 'dendrites' - branch or moss-like inclusions of manganese or iron that permeated the crystal as it formed in the bowels of the earth. The name, dentrite, comes from the Greek δένδρον (déndron) meaning 'tree'.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff or scrape is quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
