Bjørn Sigurd Østern Silver Bangle
Stylish modernist bracelet by Bjørn Sigurd Østern for David-Andersen of Norway. The sleek, silver construction morphs effortlessly from peaks to flat, and a charming inscription inside reads: INGRID 7/7 1973 SUSAN. Signed and assayed for sterling silver.
David Andersen was a Norwegian goldsmith active during the latter half of the 19th century. In 1900, the company gained international recognition, winning two gold medals for craftsmanship and innovative designs at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. In 1901 his son, Arthur, took the reigns and elevated the company to yet loftier heights, and since the 1920s many acclaimed designers have worked for the firm - including Harry Sorby, Bjørn Sigurd Østern, and Marianne Berg.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
