Pair of Enamel Rings by Einar Modahl
Two enamel rings by Norwegian designer Einar Modahl, identical but for the different colours of guilloché enamel: white and baby blue. Scandinavia has been known for its fine enamel jewellery since the early 20th century, with a number or prominent designers capturing the attention of collectors worldwide. Jewellers such as David Andersen and Marius Hammer are perhaps best known today, but the work of Einar Modahl is very much up there with the best. Modahl trained with Marius Hammer and Clement Berg, before establishing his own workshop in Oslo during the 1920s, producing designs in the Norwegian and modernist styles. These rings are a typical representation of his style, using concentric semi-circular lines to create delicate geometric patterns under the transparent vitreous enamel.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
