Victorian Snake Bracelet
A cheeky Cheshire-cat grin, bristling with lines of jagged, triangular teeth, forms the focal point of this remarkable antique serpent bracelet. He dates from the mid Victorian period, circa 1860; a time when silly snakes were firmly in vogue (also a time when most jewellers had never seen a snake in real life). Seven turquoise gemstones sit atop his head, nestled between garnet cabochon eyes and within a nest of gold scrolls. The body is (naturally) a snake link chain, and he's crafted in 15 carat gold throughout.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
