Victorian Moon & Star Brooch
A gorgeous antique crescent moon and star brooch dating from the Victorian period, circa 1890. The crescent can be worn either way: in its more common, vertical orientation, or on the horizontal after the classical fashion, thus bringing the symbolic bull's horns energy. Essentially combining the creativity and wisdom of the moon with the strength, power, and fertility of the bull. The word crescent is derived etymologically from the Latin verb crescere "to grow", technically denoting the waxing moon (luna crescens). [source: Wikipedia]
The brooch is crafted in 9ct gold, designed in such a way that the star can move around within the "horns" of the moon. Embellished with fern-like details inside the crescent and gold balls decorating the border.
