HUGE Victorian Charm Bracelet
One of the wildest antique charm bracelets you'll ever see... it's based on a 9ct gold thick curb-link bracelet, loaded up with various fobs and large-scale charms/pendants in various golds from 18ct to 9ct, totalling a remarkable 145 grams.
The 'charms' are: a pique manu fica; wonderfully textured Spanish bull; figural fob depicting cupid sharpening an arrow with intaglio carved carnelian base depicting a lion rampant; fish fob with bloodstone panel; large, ornate carnelian fob (rolled gold); heavy seal fob with armorial crest and Latin motto ROBUR ATQUE FIDES, 'Strength and Faith'; carnelian seal fob with Hercules wrestling the Nemean Lion; acorn, oak leaf, and grape bunch fob with carnelian intaglio of a bird escaping its cage with French motto QUE ME NEGLIGE ME PERD, 'Who neglects me loses me'; a figural fob wearing sapphire-set turban, gold hoop earrings, and a turquoise necklace; a diamond-studded gold orb; and a later heart padlock clasp in addition to the standard bolt ring (and safety chain, probs wise to have extra redundancy tbh). The individual pieces range from 1800 to 1900 and were likely put together towards the end of the 19th century. Utterly outrageous.
Era: 19th century
Length: 8 inches
Largest fob: 3.8cm by 2.4cm
Gold orb: 1.6cm diameter
Curb links: 11.1mm by 8.6mm
Weight: 145 grams
Marks: Chain with .375 assay stamps, fobs and pendants are 9ct, 15ct, and 18ct variously
Condition: Overall good antique condition. Some general wear consistent with age and use. The split ring holding the largest fob in place is damaged and, although it's currently secure, repair or replacement of this component is advised before wearing the bracelet. Two stones missing from the gold orb. The broken base of something remains attached, looks like an articulated fish or possibly a cornicello - see images.

We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
