Etruscan Revival Micromosaic Pendant
A remarkable micromosaic pendant dating from the mid Victorian era, circa 1870. It depicts a brightly coloured bulb-shaped flower with burnt orange petals and vivid, emerald green leaves. Interestingly at the centre of the flower there is a small, circular panel that looks similar to an evil eye, however it could also easily represent a carpel (the 'stem' at the centre of the flower). Unsure what the exact flower is (possibly a stylised take on a lotus or hibiscus?), though due to the Victorian's penchant for exoticism it is likely something tropical. The edges of the flower and panel are lined with yellow gold ropework and set on a gold, Etruscan influenced mount with millegrain detailing round the border - 15 carat throughout.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
