Early Victorian Diamond Stripes Ring
Gorgeous early Victorian memorial ring with seams of old and rose cut diamonds in diagonal stripes across the head. The gold between, and all around the band, is beautifully engraved with swirling foliate motifs, and an inscription inside the band reads: "The Rev'd Beaumont, Died (?) aet 28, Nov'r 1st 1846". English hallmarks from the London assay office confirm the year - 1846 - and that it's crafted in solid 18ct gold. A round opening behind the head would have once been furnished with a glass locket front, and likely a lock of Rev Beaumont's hair. The diamonds are an intreaguing assortment of old mine, old single cut, and rose cuts.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
