Art Deco Paste Drop Earrings
Charming Art Deco drop earrings dating from the 1930s. The bright white paste gemstones are set in silver, in mounts so innovative that someone decided to have the design patented (pat. 483401, see final image). That someone was likely Walter Henry Collins, "patentee and manufacturer" of...
"a wide range of fancy jewellery

... according one of his company's adverts. This patent, 483401, stamped on the back of the earrings, appears to relate to the construction of the individual elements of the settings which could be assembled without the use of heat/solder. It was filed in England in 1934.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
