Victorian Poseidon Pendant
"He was represented armed with a trident, the weapon used by tuna fishermen, and riding a chariot drawn by monstrous animals, half horse half serpent. This chariot was surrounded by fish, dolphins and all sorts of sea creatures, as well as by the Nereids and various minor divinities, such as Proteus."
An incredible figural pendant depicting Poseidon (or Neptune if you're Roman), god of the sea, storms, earthquakes, and horses, holding a dolphin in one hand and under one foot. The level of detail is astounding, and its maker - Cooper Brothers & Sons - obviously thought so too as they registered the design. English hallmarks date it to the year 1900, and there are the faint remains of its original gold wash.
"Poseidon presided over the Sea. He could command the waves, provoke storms, create landslides on the coast with a flourish of his trident, and cause springs to flow. His power also extended over the springs and lakes. His relationship with Zeus was not always friendly. He joined in the gods' conspiracy to put Zeus in chains, but withdrew before the threats of Briareus. For a year, Poseidon, with Apollo, and the mortal Aeacus, participated in the construction of the walls of Troy. However, Laomedon refused to give Poseidon the agreed salary, and in order to take vengeance he summoned a sea-monster which caused havoc among the Trojans."

US Shipments
Parcels going to the United States are currently subject to the Trump administration's 10% "reciprocal tariff". Until August 29th (2025), parcels under $800 remain tariff-free under the de minimis exemption.
We declare our parcels under HTS code 9706 (antique over 100 years old) which reduces import duties to zero. This means the 10% "reciprocal tariff" is all you should be charged by customs*. At this time, you are responsible for any taxes levied at the border.
US customs will require a SS# or business tax ID to clear parcels valued over $2500. UPS will request this information from you directly. More information about this can be found on the US Customs and Border Protection website.
* The tariff situation is being handled extremely erratically by the Trump administration, as such it's susceptible to change as short notice. We will keep the information on this page updated as best we can.

A healthy patina and the odd scuff or scrape is quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
