Cute antique Witch's Heart ring dating from the Victorian era, circa 1860. The heart, with its characteristic flick, features a three-petal flower of garnets, with seed pearls in the centre and surrounding. Crafted in 9 carat gold.
The Witch's Heart (or Witches Heart) is an old symbol whose origin is unclear... They feature a distinctive offset point at the bottom of the heart, some believe it originated in Scotland, where it is known to have been popular during the 1600s before eventually evolving into a crowned or double heart variant - often adorned with a thistle - called a luckenbooth. Others argue that it came from Germany, where such hearts were known as Hexenherz, worn to protect against evil spirits (and witches). Their popularity surged again from the beginning of the 19th century, when this style of heart was exchanged by lovers, indicating that the wearer had bewitched the giver.

A 25% deposit will be taken to secure the item. The remaining balance will be settled in 90 days. You can pay installments weekly, monthly, or the full balance at the end - whatever works.
Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
