Italian Cornicello Pendant
Italian vintage cornicello pendant by Uno A Erre, circa 1980. Cornicelli are prominent throughout Italy; twisted horn-shaped amulets that are used to promote fertility, virility, and strength and protect it's wearer from the evil eye. They are often made from gold and this one, crafted in 9ct, features a gorgeous matte textured finish. It's also reminiscent of a chilli pepper.
Uno A Erre was the first gold manufacturing company established in Arezzo, Italy's City of Gold. Founded in 1926 by Carlo Zucchi and Leopoldo Gori, it remains in operation to this day, nearly 100 years later. In 1934 they were granted Arezzo's first registered trademark, 1 AR, which inspired the company's name.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
