1920s Tutankhamun Necklace
A remarkable Egyptian Revival pendant dating from the 1920s. The depicted Pharaoh is quite a vibe, beautifully rendered in colourful, hand-painted enamel looking slightly forlorn with eyes cast downwards and to the side. He's bordered by a pierced greek key motif and hangs from a period barrel clasp chain. The 1920s Egyptomania that possessed Europe and the US was sparked by a single discovery in 1922: the (mostly) untouched tomb of Tutankhamun, the young Pharoah who ruled Egypt from c1332-1323. And it is said boy-King that we're looking at here.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
