Edwardian GLASGOW Souvenir Pendant
Cool antique photo-book pendant: a souvenir of Glasgow. The cover is finished in duck egg blue enamel, with six pages each featuring one of the Scottish capital's iconic landmarks: the Palace of Fine Arts (now the Kelvingrove gallery), the University, Municipal Buildings, Cathedral, the Stock Exchange, and the Clyde dockyards. It was made in 1901 to commemorate the second Glasgow International Exhibition, for which the first pictured building was erected.
Fun fact about the Palace of Fine Arts: the story goes that building was accidentally built back-to-front, and the architect jumped from one of the towers in despair upon realising his mistake. This is, however, an urban myth - the grand entrance was always intended to face into Kelvingrove Park.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
