Edwardian Opal Cocktail Ring
Stunning opal cocktail ring dating from the Edwardian period, circa 1910. The principal stone manifests a dazzling swirl of light and colour that encompasses the full rainbow spectrum, flitting from red to orange to purple to green as the viewing angle shifts. This 'play-of-colour' (an optical effect displayed by precious opal) presents over a pale blue body tone giving the stone an airy, etherial nature. It's set within a simple platinum halo between two diamond-set ribbons of millegrain platinum ending in little scrolls. The band is 18 carat yellow gold setting up a pleasing tone contrast with the cool sheen of the platinum and the glacial-blue of the opal.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
