Art Deco Sapphire Carved Half-Hoop
Elegant carved half-hoop ring dating from the Art Deco period, circa 1920. Somewhat unusually, the head is crafted in platinum and set with alternating cornflower blue sapphires and transitional cut diamonds with elegant scrollwork details to the gallery and shoulders. The band is formed from 18ct yellow gold.
This style of ring has been made, and engraved, by hand in Hatton Garden (London's jewellery quarter) for well over 150 years. This one is a rare example with the platinum head - the technique has been passed down generation after generation of jewellers largely unchanged to this day.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
