Victorian 15ct Gold Locket
Sublime Victorian locket in solid 15 carat gold. The quality is fantastic but the engraving... the engraving is nothing short of spectacular. Intricate Celtic-inspired ribbons loop around the outer faces over wonderfully textured backgrounds and punctuated, here and there, with ivy leaves. Inside, the original fittings, glass, and keepsakes remain present: a photograph of a woman, dressed in her Sunday Best, alongside a beautifully woven hairwork lattice. This remarkable locket brings together the work of at least four craftspeople at the top of their respective games - goldsmith, engraver, photographer, and hairweaver - all in honour of one very special woman - her name and deeds are now lost to history.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved and often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
