A HEAVY antique watch chain necklace dating from the early 20th century. At 17 inches it's a good, wearable length (as a necklace, at least. As a pocket watch chain it would have been verging on the absurd!) and it's a particularly heavy example at 124 grams. The English hallmarks date it to the year 1902 and the maker's mark, WWC, is for William Walter Cashmore of Birmingham. The links are solid silver and each one is individually stamped with the lion passant. It fastens with an oversized dog clip and there's also a big old T-bar.
