Art Deco Mikimoto Pearl Ring
Elegant Toi et Moi ring by Mikimoto, dating from the late Art Deco period, circa 1935. The two pearls display an excellent silky lustre, illustrating Mikimoto's reputation as the world's finest producer of cultured pearls. It's crafted in 14 carat gold with fluted crossover shoulders and beautifully formed claw settings.
Toi et Moi - you and me - is a popular style of engagement ring, symbolising two beings meeting as one. The style became famous in 1796, when Napoleon Bonaparte proposed to his beloved Josephine with one and has been a romantic choice ever since, with other notable figures such as Jackie Kennedy recipients of this enduring token of love.

Condition
We offer detailed and accurate condition reports on each listing. These pieces are antique, vintage, or pre-loved, often over 100 years old so they're going to have lived a life. A healthy patina and the odd scuff/scrape are quite normal... it's part of their charm! Everything we present has been checked over by our jeweller and should be good for wear for many years to come (unless otherwise stated) but please remember to treat them with appropriate care and consideration for their age.
