It hangs from a gorgeous ribbon bow bail and comes complete with its original, purple velvet, fitted presentation box. The wording on the inside of the lid allows us to date it between 1901 and 1909: \"to the king\" tells us it was made during the reign of Edward VII, and the \"R.S Garrard \u0026amp; Co.\" branding was phased out in 1909 when the company began trading as \"Garrard \u0026amp; Company Ltd.\", dropping the initials at the beginning.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"Garrard was the first official and most notably important Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom having supplied jewels for Queen Victoria, and was charged with the upkeep of the British Crown Jewels, from 1843 to 2007, and was responsible for the creation of many tiaras and jewels still worn by the British royal family today.
